CUPE Local 3902 (Unit 3) Job Posting Sessional Lecturer Position Posting Date: April 21, 2025 Program: Executive Master of Health Informatics (eMHI) Sessional dates of appointment: Fall 2025 September to December Course title: MHI2009H: Evaluation Methods for Health Informatics Course Description: In a rapidly evolving digital health landscape, traditional evaluation often comes too late to make a difference. This course flips the script - focusing on how evaluation thinking can be embedded from the beginning to design better systems, support adaptive decision:making, and maximize impact. Students will learn how to define success early, build feedback loops into system design, and use real:time evidence to iterate during implementation. Rather than treating evaluation as an endpoint, we explore it as a strategic tool for learning, alignment, and course correction. Through real case studies, students will practice designing performance measures, identifying leading indicators of failure or success, and shaping project architecture to support continuous learning. We'll cover simple tools like driver diagrams, logic models, and usability testing - all grounded in the realities of clinical practice, policy environments, and technology development. Qualifications : : A PhD or Masters level education with recent experience in clinical and health informatics, preferably in the areas of ICT adoption, implementation, and evaluation; : A robust understanding of clinical/clinician work processes, as influenced by health informatics and related technology; : Past teaching experience related to health informatics, preferably at the graduate level; : Prior experience in curriculum development and adult teaching:learning methods; : Comfortable with electronic teaching tools such as Learning Management Systems (e.g., Canvas), PowerPoint, as well as on:line collaboration tools (Blogs, Wikis, Discussion Boards, Webinars, or Video:conferencing).
