As a hub for the network of teaching centres across the institution, CTSI plays a vital role in supporting collaboration between the centres and with the divisions, supporting institutional teaching and learning priorities and teaching excellence across the university. Your opportunity: The Centre for Teaching Support and Innovation (CTSI) provides leadership in teaching and learning at the University of Toronto and provides support for pedagogy and pedagogy:driven instructional technology for all teaching staff and graduate teaching assistants across all the University's campuses and divisions. Reporting to the Executive Director of the Centre for Teaching Support and Innovation (CTSI), CTSI's Senior Manager, Educational Development is responsible for managing a team of educational developers within CTSI that provide ongoing support for innovative and scholarly teaching across all divisions and all three campuses. This support includes providing pedagogical guidance and faculty development around the effective use of teaching data and scholarly research to enhance teaching. This position also oversees job training and professional development opportunities for the University's graduate student Course Instructors and Teaching Assistants, as offered through the Teaching Assistants' Training Program (TATP). In consultation with the Executive Director, key duties include setting standards and procedures for the Educational Development (ED) team, effective and efficient delivery of services, the allocation and prioritization of human resources, working collaboratively with staff within the Centre for Teaching Support and Innovation, the Division of the Vice:President and Provost, the other campus teaching centres at UTM and UTSC , and members of the broader University of Toronto community. This extends to providing leadership, support to, and collaboration with the community of educational development professionals working in academic divisions across the institution. Along with the Executive Director and the other Senior Managers within CTSI, the Senior Manager, Educational Development helps lead the overall CTSI office. The Senior Manager, Educational Development contributes their specific subject matter and organizational expertise to the team but does so with a global sense of ownership and pride for the entire teaching support ecosystem and experience at the University of Toronto, as well as the teaching and learning priorities of CTSI, and an understanding that their actions have an effect far beyond the specifics of any one project or initiative. Essential Qualifications: EDUCATION: Master's degree or acceptable combination of education and experience. PhD strongly preferred. EXPERIENCE: Eight (8) years of relevant experience in supporting educational/faculty development in a higher education setting. Minimum of six (6) years related administrative experience at a senior level in a University setting. Knowledge of the structure of the University, its policies and procedures. Demonstrated success with the implementation of new initiatives and processes.
