Location: Cambridge
Salary: A GBP 45,000 : A GBP 50,000 per annum
Working Hours: This role is full time for 37.5 hours per week. Normal working hours are 08:00 : 16:30, with a daily allowance of 1 hour unpaid break

The Role
They are seeking to appoint a Minor Works Manager to lead and deliver on their ever:growing programme of improvement and maintenance works. The post holder will plan, drive and deliver projects including building alterations and improvements, refurbishments and new build capital projects, working in conjunction with the Director of Estates and externally appointed consultants as applicable.
On larger projects, working closely with the Bursar, the school employs the required project team, led by the post holder with support from the Director of Estates.
Regarding smaller projects, the school would decide the level of external resource including consultants, designers and trades required, or plan to undertake the works in:house.
Contractors are used by the Estates Department for projects, inspections and planned maintenance undertakings and subject to suitable checks and management techniques.
The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of all forms of building contracts, services and processes together with proven experience in managing programmes to budget and time.
Skills and Qualifications
* Prince II or similar project management qualification.
* Relevant professional qualifications.
* Full UK driving licence.
* Relevant H and S qualifications eg NEBOSH or IOSH Managing Safety.
* The successful candidates primary background could be in quantity surveying, project management, architecture or general construction but some knowledge and experience of working alongside all these professional disciplines is essential.
* Familiarity with forms of building contracts.
* An understanding of all types of building services.
* Knowledge of construction processes.
* Knowledge of energy conservation measures.
* Proven experience in managing programmes to budget and time.
* Experience of liaising with stakeholders.
* Experience in budget management.
* Experience of working in or for an educational establishment.
