Role Overview: As the Lead Theatre Practitioner, you will play a vital role in the orthopaedic department, ensuring the smooth running of theatre operations and maintaining high standards of patient care. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to lead a dynamic team and contribute to the success of the orthopaedic service line. Key Responsibilities: Lead and support the orthopaedic theatre team,overseeing daily operations and ensuring compliance with best practice guidelines. Assist surgeons and anaesthetists during orthopaedic procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and providing expert assistance as needed. Manage the preparation and maintenance of theatre equipment, instruments, and supplies to facilitate efficient surgical procedures. Mentor and develop junior theatre staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote effective communication and teamwork across departments. Uphold stringent infection control measures and health and safety standards within the theatre environment. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, participating in audits and implementing evidence-based practice. Requirements: Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner with extensive experience in orthopaedic theatre settings. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to deliver exceptional patient care. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues at all levels. Thorough understanding of orthopaedic surgical procedures, instrumentation, and perioperative care protocols. Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of industry developments. Previous experience in a private healthcare setting is desirable but not essential.
