We're looking for a talented Transport Supervisor to join us on a full:time, permanent basis working Monday to Friday on our morning shift; 06:00 : 15:00 at our Rochester site, for our shared user network. Through the shared service we deliver specialised freight and palletised goods. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills as a hands:on transport operations supervisor within a dynamic and collaborative team. Pay, benefits and more: We're looking to offer a salary of up to GBP 32,000 per annum. We offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. What you'll do on a typical day: : Co:ordinate the transport operations on site to meet both network and customer expectations. : Ensure that all drivers are compliant with the working time directive regulations and that any accidents/incidents are investigated in a timely manner. : Liaise with line management to ensure the effective use of hire vehicles / subcontractors minimising the cost impact to the business. : Ensuring the operation is fully resourced by using sub:contractors when needed. Coordinating and recording holidays and absences. : Ensure the overall smooth delivery of the operation daily and utilise the team around you. : Be involved in HR and health and safety cases : recruitment, investigations, disciplinaries, absences and return to works. What you need to succeed at XPO: : Essential: Good understanding and experience of working within a fast:paced transport operation. (Ideally in a palletised environment.) : Essential: Experience in both transport operations and transport planning. : Essential: Excellent communication skills : you'll be speaking regularly with various internal and external stakeholders. : Essential: Experience leading people and drivers. : Essential: The ability to pick up new systems and use excel efficiently. : Desirable: CPC qualified.
