We are looking for someone like you.We're currently recruiting for a Transport Shift Manager Nights to be based at our site in Widnes. As part of this busy transport operation, you'll ensure the timely and safe dispatch of drivers on a 4 on 4 off Night shift pattern 19:00 :07:00. Pay, benefits and more: We're looking to offer a salary of up to GBP 34,500per annum. In addition, we offer 20 days holiday as well as the option to buy additional days. What you'll do on a typical day: stylemargin:bottom:11.0px: : Support the Operations Manager with adherence to all compliance and legal obligations during your shift with a huge emphasis on safety, deputising in their absence : Assist with executing the daily plan for all deliveries and collections, with a keen eye on resource, root causes for any lates, and close customer communication : Ensure all process and procedures are followed and that we operate a safe and efficient environment : Manage the Transport Office and drivers through the dayshift operation. : Ensure the operation is managed safely. : Ensure all staff are trained and following company procedures at all times. : Ensure drivers are dispatched on there allocated time to meet the contract SLA's. : Keeping damages to a minimum. : Calling breakdown companies for vehicles or trailers. What you need to succeed at XPO: stylemargin:bottom:11.0px: : It's important you have exposure of working in a fast:paced environment : no two days will be the same and we need you to think on your feet : Previous experience supervising and developing a team within a complex transport environment : Proven experience within transport and a good understanding of compliance and driver hours : Computer literate as will be answering email, dispatching drivers, and compiling a handover every evening. : Team building experience. : Experience in a fast:paced, time critical environment. : Some transport experience dealing with C+E drivers would be beneficial.
