The Opportunity The Admitting Clerk performs a variety of reception and clerical duties required for the efficient operation of the unit. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: data entry (in:patient and outpatient registration, admission, discharge, transfer and pre:registrations); required transport functions, in accordance with unit and IWK Health policies; ordering and maintaining supplies; specific auditing functions; Point Pleasant Lodge reservations; arranging for shift coverage. Hours of Work Varies based on 24 hourdepartment coverage schedule;includes days, evening, nights andweekends. 7 hour shifts. Your Qualifications :Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D. required. :Completion of a recognized office administration program an asset. :Previous experience in a similar role preferred. :Emergency experience preferred. :Demonstrated accurate keyboarding and data entry skills required. Testing may be conducted on short:listed candidates and results will be factored into the candidate's overall suitability for this position. :Demonstrated organizational, analytical, time management, interpersonal and communication skills required. :Flexibility to work additional shifts preferred. :Knowledge of medical terminology an asset. :Competency in other lang
