The Office of the Vice:Principal Academic and Dean at UTSC is embarking on exciting program and curriculum renewal in light of the opening of the new Scarborough Academy of Medicine and Integrated Health (SAMIH) and significant growth in Health Sciences students. To be launched in Fall 2026, SAMIH will serve as an inclusive hub for healthcare education by training the next generation of professionals across a range of disciplines. Your opportunity: Under the general direction of the Manager, Academic Program Reviews and Quality Assurance, and in close consultation with the Vice:Dean, Teaching, Learning and Undergraduate Programs; the Vice:Dean, Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies; and the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Programs and Curriculum, the Academic Programs Officer is responsible for managing and supporting activities related to the undergraduate and graduate curriculum cycles and academic programs, with a particular focus on interdisciplinary approaches to the health sciences and health sciences professional programs. These activities include proposal development, strategic planning and implementation of processes required for both university and professional accreditations, as well as the governance of health professional programs. The role also oversees interdisciplinary program development and delivery, program closures, the development of academic pathways, program quality assessment and improvement and program reviews, all as part of the University of Toronto Quality Assurance Process (UTQAP). Additionally, the incumbent contributes to the production of the UTSC academic calendar and the program and unit review process ensuring that all internal and external requirements are adhered to. The Academic Programs Officer also supervises operations and staff supporting UTSC's Joint Programs with other institutions as well as Combined Degree Programs with other divisions. Working closely with members of the Dean's Office, Chairs, departmental staff, the Registrar's Office, and the Provost's Office, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring that these processes operate in accordance with the highest academic and procedural standards, thereby advancing UTSC's academic aspirations and reputation.
